The big lighting design award LIT Design Award for 2021 was awarded yesterday to Eleftheria Deko for the new lighting of the Acropolis, in the presence of the Minister of Culture and Sports Lina Mendoni, at the Acropolis Museum.

“The image of our top monument,” said Lina Mendoni, “reflects and radiates the image of the country. The lighting now highlights the whole of the Sacred Rock, the Walls, the volume, the geometry of each monument, from every possible point of view. The marbles, whiter than ever, reflect the natural material, exalt every aspect, every shape, emphasize the relief of the decoration of every monument. This work is being awarded today. This work is gaining international recognition by art and lighting experts worldwide. The light of the Acropolis travels around the world. Highlights the most important monument of Western Civilization. It promotes the cultural heritage of our country. It promotes Greece “.

The LIT Design Awards, based in Switzerland, were created to recognize the efforts of talented international lighting designers and applicators.

They reward creativity and innovation in the fields of lighting products and applications. It is noted that the lighting of the Acropolis was carried out with a donation and implementation by the Onassis Foundation, in collaboration and under the supervision of the Services of the Ministry of Culture.
