Francis Ford Coppola has been in talks for some time to direct an epic film to add to his cinematic legacy, which includes the films “Apocalypse Now” and the “The Godfather” trilogy and his long-awaited project “Megalopolis” and which now takes on flesh and blood.

According to THR, Francis Ford Coppola has assembled a first-class cast that shows the scope of the $ 100 million project, which the director is financing himself and not a large film studio.

So far it has been announced that Adam Driver, Natalie Emanuel, Forrest Whitaker, Lawrence Wisburn and John Voight will star.

“The fate of Rome haunts a modern world that can not solve its own social problems in this epic story of political ambition, genius and love and conflict,” the film’s synopsis reads.

Francis Ford Coppola said he decided to finance the film himself because the films are made in a certain way and anyone with a different idea goes against the flow.

“People may not accept it, but sometimes the other idea represents what comes in the future,” he added. “This is worth considering,” he said.
