The opening of the painting exhibition “Ride on 2 wheels” took place yesterday, Wednesday 27/04/2022, in Giali Tzami.

The exhibition consists of 860 individual works by students of Kindergartens, Primary, Gymnasiums and Lyceums of the Municipality of Chania.

In the painting exhibition, which is a parallel action of the PPC-International Cycling Tour Greece, the mayor of Chania, Panagiotis Simandirakis, took a tour a short time after the completion of the first ETAP, with the undersecretary of Sports, Lefteris Avgenakis, the member of  parliament, Vassilis Digalakis and regional governor of Chania, Nikos Kalogeris.

After the tour of the exhibition, the attendees tasted dishes prepared and offered by the Association of Hoteliers N. Chania.

In particular, drawing inspiration from the Cycling Tour, which revived after ten years in Greece, the students chose and created their works based on one of the four themes of the exhibition:

“Orthopetalia in History”: the history of the International Cycling Tour

2. “Cycling Route in Crete”: places where the Cycling Tour passes and highlight the beauty of our country

3. “To fight”: without a fan spirit there can be no sport

4. “Small compass”: a change of orientation on accessibility.

The exhibition will last until Wednesday 11.May and will be open Monday to Friday from 10.00 to 12.00 and Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, from 19.00 to 21.00.

The action is organized by the Municipality of Chania in cooperation with the Region of Crete, the Regional Unit of Chania, the Municipal Port Fund of Chania, the Directorates of Primary and Secondary Education N. Chania and Cycling Greece.
