The Greek presence at the Paris Book Festival was rich and important this year, which after a two-year absence due to the pandemic took place again in the French capital, gathering more than 3,000 authors, the largest publishing houses in the world, and more than 160,000 visitors.

The Greek pavilion, set up by the Hellenic Cultural Center of France (Center Culturel Hellénique), the Ministry of Culture and the Hellenic Cultural Foundation, presented about 170 works by Greek authors that have been translated or written in French, as well as books that have as their main their subject is Greece.

Present at the Greek stand, where they signed their books, were many important Greek authors, such as Christos Homenidis, Soloup, Giannis Palavos, Fotini Tsalikoglou, Alen Glykos, Solanz Festal-Livanis, Katerina Apoulogos , Gianna Andreadi, Emily Papatheodorou, Emmanuel Laskou, George Prevelakis, Pierre Jude de la Combe, Christos Chrysopoulos and Andrea Marcolongo.

Within the framework of the Festival, two discussions were held with Greek presences: The first was on “Greece: Borders and People”, with the participation of Fotini Tsalikoglou, Alen Glykos, Soloup and Christos Chrysopoulos, while the second was directed by the President and President of France. Film Library, Costas Gavras, talked with Christos Homenidis about the book of the last “Victory”, which had received the European Novel Award of 2021. Finally, within the Festival, the translation node GreekLit was presented by Haris Meletiadis.
