Ellen Mirren mentioned Greece and her passage through Epidaurus in her speech at the 28th SAG Awards Ceremony.
In particular, the famous actress was awarded for her overall contribution to the film industry and spoke about one of the most special moments of her career.
She was none other than the one who lived on the stage of the Epidaurus theater in Greece, in 2009, when she played Phaedra.
“Some years ago, I had the challenge to play Phaedra in the ancient theater of Epidaurus, in front of about 4,000 seats. So while I was standing in that place with 2,000 years of history, I felt the ghosts of all the ancient Greek actors wandering. I felt their fears, their sweat and I felt one with those actors. “You are amazing,” said the actress.
